Estimados Colegas,
Esta tarde se reunieron en la Galaria Fayad Jamis, ubicada en la casa de la Cultura del municipio Alamar, la direccion del Grupo Uno con los directores de los grupos seleccionados para participar en el Sexta Ediccion del FESTIVAL DE RAP ALAMAR 2000. Carlos y Balesy (que aparecen en la foto adjunta) comunicaron el programa definitivo del festival, asm como del concierto pre-inaugural. Adjuntamos programacion del festival, aprobado por su presidente, Rodolfo Rensoli, que en este momento se encuentra por Santiago de Cuba coordinando con los grupos de esta provincia que participaran en el festival.

Dear Colleagues,
This afternoon was the meeting in the Galeria Fayad Jamis, placed in the Cultural House of the Alamar municipality, the Grupo Uno with the directors of the rap's groups which will finally participate in the 6th Edition of the FESTIVAL DE RAP ALAMAR 2000. Carlos and Balesy (see in the above picture) communicated the official program of the festival as well as the pre-opening concert.
We attached the schedule of the festival, approved by the president, Rodolfo Rensoli, which is now in Santiago de Cuba for the coordination with the group from this province who will participate in this festival.

| Subject: HIP HOP/SOUL BENEFIT FOR CUBAN RAP FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE On Monday, June 26th The Mercury above Jazz will host an evening of music, dance, and spoken word as Austin's Hip Hop community comes together in support of a materially-strapped, but artistically vibrant Cuban rap scene. Proceeds of the Benefit will be used to purchase DJ equipment which will be donated to the Grupo Uno project in Havana, Cuba. A central player in the emergent Cuban rap movement, Grupo Uno provides support to local rappers in Havana, and is the key organizer of the sixth annual Cuban Rap Festival which will be held this August, 2000. Donated equipment will be presented to Grupo Uno at this year's Festival. The Mercury Benefit will be joined in its efforts by the New York City-based Black August Collective which has scheduled its own benefit concert in mid-August involving a host of New York rap artists. Money raised from this event will also be donated to Grupo Uno by a contingent of New York-based rap artists who will be traveling to Cuba to participate in the Festival.
