Lic. Loida Barbarita Martínez Gutierrez
Specialist in Folklore research, especially of African roots in Matanzas, since 1983
Loida Barbarita worked for Cultura Provincial de Matanzas in the 90's as the sole person responsible
for afficionado folkloric groups. She worked there for until she died
in 2017, 34 years.
She organized a series of courses on AfroCuban religions
as they now exist in Matanzas.
