Laroye founder Cachita More passes, 3/28/02

Cachita More, a madrina to many in Miami and in Cuba, passed. Her funeral will be held in Havana during the day at Calzada y K in Vedado on April 2, 2002.

Her surviving son, Lazaro Perez More, asks that donations be sent to the Caribbean American Children Foundation: PO Box 353593, Palm Coast, FL 32135.  This is a tax exempt organization which works with AfroCubans in Guantanamo and elsewhere in Oriente. 

Cachita had this to say about Guantanamo: "I like Guantanamo - the doctors are black, the nurses are black, even the government is black."
