Hugo Rivalta (1970, Havana, Cuba) is a writer and actor, known for the films The Cuban Way (2017), Dez Reais (2007), Bajo Habana (2003) and Utopía (2004).

Graduated in Scriptwriting at the International School of Cinema and Television of San Antonio de los Baños; and in Directing Audiovisual Media at the Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba. Scriptwriter by profession. Several of his screenplays have been produced by Cuban Television. Co-writer of the award-winning Cartoon Series "Pubertad", produced by the Animation Institute of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry. His second television series for young people and adolescents, "The Goats." is in production (2016)  He is currently writing his second novel.

The Cuban Way follows our characters young and old, each with their own passion for dance and asks “Can the heart of Cuban dance survive and embrace the new, or will some traditions be lost forever?”

Hugo Rivalta (1970, La Habana, Cuba) es guionista y actor, conocido por las peliculas The Cuban Way (2017), Dez Reais (2007), Bajo Habana (2003) y Utopía (2004).

Graduado en Guión en la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños; y de Dirección de Medios Audiovisuales en el Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba. Guionista de profesión. Varios de sus guiones han sido producidos por la Televisión Cubana. Co-guionista de la premiada Serie de dibujos animados “Pubertad”, producida por los Estudios de Animación del Instituto Cubano de Arte e Industria Cinematográficos (ICAIC). En producción su segunda Serie de televisión para jóvenes y adolescentes, “Las Cabras.” Actualmente escribe su segunda novela.
