Due to the dramatic decrease in interest in trips abroad,
we have scaled back our offerings for 2002. Apprehension is certainly
understandable but the security on the flights to Cuba was already very
high before 9/11 and the country itself is one of the safest places in
the world to travel. Our Board of Directors and staff discussed this all
at great length before deciding to continue with the following
offerings:
January 5-19, 2002 Folkloric and Religious Dance and Music in Santiago with departure from Montreal, Quebec ($1,995) January 26 - February 2 Salsa Dancing in Havana ($1,595) All Havana trips leave from JFK and now have better flight times - Saturday afternoon departures with return the following Saturday at noon. February 16-23 Salsa in Havana February 23- March 2 Salsa in Havana March 9 - 16 Special sessions with Cutumba in Santiago led by Jim Lepore. We are still working on flights for this but it will depart from the DC area or Miami CCE was asked to put together some trips geared to more general interest so we have arranged two tours with a bit of dance and music and lots of history. March 15-23 Cultural/historical tour of Havana and Trinidad ($1,995) March 29 - April Architectural/cultural tour of Havana and Trinidad with 5 star accomodations, the works ($3,500) We are still working on our website (www.ccedrums.org) but you should be able soon to access all the latest information and download registration forms, etc. Or get us your address and we will mail this to you. We are always happy to answer any questions, so please give us a call at845-687-8890 or email us at CCEdrums@aol.com Best wishes, the CCE staff |
