Ndabo means 'village head' in the Efut communities of the Calabar region. The
Cuban rumba group Yoruba Andabo used
consciously named using Andabo (translated as 'friend' in Abakua) to signify the
union between Yoruba and Calabar (Abakua) descendants in Cuba.
