Carnavals

Carnavals in Cuba are completely unpromoted, except for Havana and Santiago.  There are hundreds of them, one in virtually every city, each at different times of the year. Frequently a fantastic experience, especially in areas with a strong population of African descent, such as Santiago, Matanzas, Havana, Guantanamo, etc.  There you can participate in tremendous congas and parades.

Schedule

Santiago de Cuba 23-29 July, 2003
Havana July
Matanzas 3rd week of August

See link(s) for current details.
